📌 Notes & Tips
● The best months for fireflies are usually December to January (peak glow), but tours run year-round.
● Do not bring insect repellant—fireflies don't like it and there are no mosquitoes around anyway.
● Bring a good low-light camera gear (no flash) and most importantly,
● To get the fireflies to twinkle brightly, prepare a red light/lamp. Fireflies only react to red lights. It's like pheromones calling to them to mate. Red light is like a mate calling to them from a distance. A small trivia- you will recognize a firefly's gender from the brightness of its light. The more brighter bugs are the male ones.
● Not only will you see fireflies but luminous planktons in the water too. You can touch the river water while the boat is running and you can see trail of lights while you're splashing the water. It's more visible and vivid when the moon is waning or no moon around at all.
